Warqi Quran was a unique gift from a father to his son in the 18th century. Shahjahan, the Tah Mahal famous Moghul king asked his Arabic calligraphers to write the Quran in the kufi script for his son ensuring that each juz or part completes on two pages or one folio. The writing is a treasure of calligraphic art, ornamented with different styles of calligraphy and exquisite floral borders. This uniquely composed Quran displays 113 different calligraphic styles, including "Thulth", "Diwani", "Koofi" and "Jali".
The Calligraphers invested 15 years of hard labor of love to compose this unique Quran. The calligraphers of India reconstructed the original in almost 20 years and now they have made their labor available to the general public.
